About Frederik

Through the years I have come to see that I am more than a teacher. I am an educator that empowers people to change their lives in mind, body and soul. I have always believed that practical skills have the power to change lives.

I make myself known as the Innovative Artisan because I’m qualified Tool and Jig Maker that brings creative and innovative solutions when serving people as a handyman. The more than 40 years of teaching experience have taught me to combine my technical expertise and, with added passion, help others develop confidence through hands-on learning.

I taught Mechanical Engineering at a Technical College for many years and also studied Industrial Arts for high school learners —now known as Technology —which combines practical problem-solving with technical knowledge. My greatest satisfaction has always come from seeing students discover their abilities, who they truly are and convert that into success through practical experience.

For the past three years my wife and I have been tutoring learners in the Helderberg area, helping them achieve their academic goals, grow in confidence, and experience that they can reach their full potential. We believe that every learner can succeed when they receive patient guidance, encouragement, and practical support.

Whether I’m repairing something as a handyman, teaching a new skill, or mentoring a young person, my goal remains the same: to share knowledge, solve problems, and help others become capable, confident, and independent.

Hands On Skills was created to bring together my lifelong experience in craftsmanship, teaching, and mentoring. I look forward to helping you develop practical skills that will serve you for years to come.
